Instructions for Stanley Mosk Courthouse
Our suggestion is to set your GPS to the Music Center parking lot:
135 N Grand Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90012
Though, technically, the Court building is across the street at 110 N. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. (Even more technically, the court main address is 111 N. Hill St – but that’s merely academic for purposes of this conversation.)
We feel that the best place to park is at the Music Center, which is across the street from the Courthouse. The Music Center is where the Ahmanson theatre is. That parking structure costs $20 flat rate for the day, and accepts credit cards.
After parking, go out to Grand Avenue, and cross the street at the crosswalk in the middle of the block. Turn right and walk towards the Courthouse and enter at the 110 N. Grand Ave. entrance. Go through security.
You’ll be on the fourth floor of the Courthouse at this point. You should see a small coffee shop and then the Family Law filing room. After walking past that you’ll come to elevators and escalators.
Depending on what department you’re in - go to the corresponding floor. The first number of the department reflects the floor that department is on. E.g. department 829 is on the 8th floor. If you don’t know what department you are in, you can look for your name on the screens outside of the Family Law filing room.
You should see your attorney seated on a bench outside the department. If you get there before your attorney, grab a seat on one of the benches.
Most hearings are set for 8:30AM. That doesn’t mean that your matter will get started at 8:30AM. In fact, it rarely will. Though because some judges get started at 8:3oAM sharp, your attorney will typically get to Court around 8:15AM to be ready to start. Please do your best to get to Court by 8:30AM. If you are running late, please text and email your attorney to let them know your timing (and why you are late - in case the Court asks).
Good luck!
